Roller vs. Zebra Blinds: A Style Guide
Window treatments do more than just block out the sun; they define the personality of a room. Two of our most popular options are Fabric Roller Blinds and Zebra Double Roller Blinds. Both offer sleek, modern aesthetics, but they function quite differently.
Fabric Roller Blinds
The Classic Choice. Roller blinds consist of a single piece of fabric that wraps around a casing at the top of your window frame.
Best for: Simplicity and full blockage. If you choose a blackout fabric, roller blinds are excellent for bedrooms. Sunscreen fabrics allow you to see out during the day while blocking glare and UV rays.
Zebra Double Roller Blinds
The Modern Twist. Also known as "Day and Night" blinds, these feature two layers of fabric with alternating sheer and solid stripes. By aligning or offsetting these stripes, you can control light levels with precision without raising the blind all the way.
Best for: Light control and privacy. You can have a view outside through the sheer stripes while maintaining privacy, or align the solid stripes for total privacy.
The Verdict
- Choose Roller Blinds for a clean, minimalist look or when you need total darkness (blackout).
- Choose Zebra Blinds if you want flexible light control and a striking, contemporary design feature in your living space.
